Filmmaker: Kurt Kuenne

Kurt Kuenne is wonderful.

In addition to those two wonderful short films (sorry, I can’t remember which blog they came from…) he also made the feature film Dear Zachary: A Letter to a son about his father. I am so in love with his conviction and his passion for his best friend. I hope in my lifetime I exercise half the love he has.

The movie itself is so touching and moving. It makes you sad and angry and hopeful and happy. Everything a film should really. I have been crying for so long now it has made me dehydrated. It’s one of those movies where you just sit and cry for a long, long time.

I love Kuenne’s clever style. His plots are simple yet shocking and his subject matter is both controversial and inspiring.
