At school this semester I am taking Acting II, Dance (we are doing Contemporary/Modern Ballet) and “Writing for Design, Media and Informatics” which I need to graduate. What an amazing semester! I am at all three campuses and downtown at the new Woodwards campus 4 days per week! Love it! I am close to Gorilla Foods too hehe
“You are in the position of power in your life, but not the kind of power that controls. It has nothing to do with anyone else. It is not egomania. but a healthy self-love! This means power over your perceptions of the world, the self. This means power over how you react to situations in your life, power to do what is necessary for your own self-growth, power to create joy and satisfaction in your life,”
from Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers
“You have power to be strong-minded and strong-willed, and simply the power to act and power to love.”
from my inspiring friend Janice : )
Today there was this gathering I was scared to go to because I made up that I didn’t know anyone very well, but I find that whenever I push myself beyond that silly fear and awkwardness I have tons of fun and make new friends! Yay! YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!
This post is just to say that I believe in myself.
I am amazing. I am so talented. I am beautiful. There is nothing I can’t do if I set my mind to it.
The next time someone doubts me, or causes me to think I am anything less than perfect, I will remember that I believe in myself. And then I will tell them that I believe in them. Because I think sometimes we all need a little faith.

I think that compassion is the most important human quality. The Dalai Lama once said, “If we develop a good heart, real appreciation, love and compassion for others, our life will improve.” Compassion makes the world a better and more accepting place to live in and if I can conjure any of that in my lifetime, then my life will be of service to the greater good.
I have noticed that unconditional love in transforming our planet. If I can bring that love into my own life with such passion that it inspires others, I will have lived my truest, most valuable life.
Carpe Diem. I will only live each moment once and I think through pursuits of adventure, it is possible to honor every moment, and do so with passion. Why be “ok” when you could be “amazing”? I aim to bring spirit and energy into all of my actions and endeavors.
Dr. Stephen Covey, one of North America’s most respected, widely read and frequently quoted leadership experts, and author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People , defines leadership as:
Communicating to people their worth and potential so clearly that they come to see it in themselves.
I came across this quote as part of a leadership program I completed at SFU and I started making connections to the process of acknowledgement but I did not fully realize this connection until today.
Today it was made clear to me that…
if I just change my own behavior and use my aptitude for positivity to acknowledge others, then I can fully realize my potential for unconditional love.
By living with an appreciative mindset I notice and become attuned to the good in others and BY DOING THIS I can model how other people can do this as well. Then, they will also notice and become attuned to the good in others and (more importantly) themselves.
The thing I love most about the phase BE LOVE is that I continue to understand it on deeper and deeper levels.
I Am is not only a film but a social experiment that took strangers in Philadelphia and asked them to finish this sentence. “I am ___.”
So what are you? Ask yourself, “Who am I?” And let us know! Mission: SuperForesterers comment letting the world know, “I am blank.” Go to it you grand SuperForesters you!
When I was first watching the video, my initial reaction was confusion. How can we define who we are? Aren’t we defined by other people? Can anyone really know what they really are? But then I quickly realized how silly that sounds. Just last weekend I did a self awareness workshop at school. It talked about how everyone is multi-dimensional, “we are all plaid!” and how to communicate with others despite differences. So clearly, we are not just one thing.
I think it comes down to that Eminem lyric, “I am whatever I say I am, if I wasn’t, then why would I say I am?” In posting this I stumbled upon his latest song called “Not Afraid”. I wouldn’t call myself a huge rap fan but there really is a lot of good rap music out there (for example). Music with a message.
“I’m not afraid
to take a stand
come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together
through the storm
cold or warm,
Just let you know that,
you’re not alone
Holla if you feel that
you’ve been down the same road…”
So for me, at this moment, I am my manifesto. I am smiling. I am sick, but I am not my sinus infection. I am blogging…
And most importantly, I am whatever I say I am : )
Yesterday I had a job interview and they asked me to share a goal I have that I want to complete in the next five years. At the time I didn’t know what to say. I have several goals but they didn’t feel definite. What if I change my mind? What if one of these things is no longer important to me?
I used to be one of those people that had to plan everything out in advance. I remember my first trip to Disneyland when I was going into grade 10. I looked at the list of rides/attractions and tried to plan my whole day out minute by minute. Wow. Since then i’ve really learned to enjoy the adventure that is life and follow the path I am given. It is much less worrisome this way. That said, I still like to have some goals for the future or rather, things I would like to do.
